Flooded homeowner sues Chase Bank for advising against buying flood insurance

The Houston Chronicle published the story of Kingswood homeowner Deola Ali, who was advised against purchasing flood insurance by his mortgage lender. If the facts are true, I believe he has a compelling case in his lawsuit that stands a good chance of prevailing. From the article:

“Deola Ali bought a house in Kingwood six years ago and didn’t buy flood insurance after the his mortgage lender said he didn’t need it because the property wasn’t in a flood plain. But the house took on about three feet of water last month during Hurricane Harvey, causing more than $200,000 in damages.”
